While this says “loving lately”, we’ve been loving this now since March 2022.
What is a BedJet and why did we splurge to get one? Our room in our house gets so incredibly stuffy. We do not have a ceiling fan, which probably would be a good solution, but having that air blowing on our faces at night can just irritate/dry out the sinuses. Joel had heard about bed cooling systems on a podcast he was listening to so I started looking into them as well. Basically, the premise of the systems we looked at regulate the temperature of the bed – either with a cooling pad you sleep on top of (generally water cooled) or, in the case of the BedJet, is an air cooled/heated system that blows a steady, set temperature. The BedJet can go underneath regular sheets or using their cloud sheet – basically two sheets sewed together and the air blows between the sheets so it’s not directly blowing on you.
This is not a cheap product and was absolutely a splurge purchase for us – costing about 900$ back in 2022. We have king size bed and bought the set that came with 2 BedJet 3 systems and a cloud sheet (basically, a sheet that the air blows into with a seam down the middle to keep my side and Joel’s side separate). We recognized that a good night sleep, especially with two small children, was so critical to us being better people during the day, we decided to go for it and try it out for their 30 day period where we could return it.
Here is a picture from their website showing what it looks like.

It’s basically a fan unit that slips under your bed and blows air through the hose up under the sheets. Simple concept – but this has really been a game changer for sleeping in our room. The fan is a little loud and aggressive on the ‘turbo mode’ but that only runs for a couple of minutes. The rest of the time, it’s quiet enough that it fades into the background as white noise.
The app allows you to customize your “biorhythms”. This is awesome because I like to crawl into a warm bed. I let it run warm for a bit and then it turns off. An hour later, I have it kick in and blow cool air over me the rest of the night.

Customer service is great! While my system has been great this whole time. Joel has gone through 3 units. For some reason, he must have bad luck, because his unit would error out all the time. Honestly, his still does, and he gets a bad night sleep those nights when the cooling randomly shuts off and he gets hot. When we had the issues, customer service sent him a new unit right away with a label to return the faulty one. The second time it happened, they sent us another one again, but this time told us we didn’t have to send the faulty one back… which actually was a little annoying because now we have a big unit just sitting in our basement because I haven’t gotten around to bringing it in to the electronics recycling… but, the speed at which they addressed our issues and got us a new unit was great.
So that’s one of the gadgets I’ve been loving lately and would highly recommend if you are struggling with sleep, a normal ceiling fan or box fan isn’t doing the trick, and you have a chunk of money set aside to help the problem.
