Day 21 of the Book-a-Day Countdown to 2026! (For all prompts, view this post)
The Prompt: The Scene Stealer.
The Definition: The side character who quietly (or loudly) stole the show from the protagonist.
The Book: Other People’s Houses (DC Morgan #3) by Clare Mackintosh.
My Rating:
The Scene Stealer: Leo Brady’s ex-wife.
I love this series for DC Morgan and Leo (and the amazing Welsh/English border setting). Leo’s ex-wife absolutely was the highlight of the third book though! Her obsession with “fitting in” with the rich crowd, buying things she probably can’t afford, and curating a fake life was cringey, relatable, and totally captivating.
