Today is Day 28 of the Book-a-Day Countdown to 2026. (For all prompts, view this post)
The Prompt: The Hometown Hero.
The Definition: A familiar setting that makes me say, “Hey, I know that street!”
The Book:
Shoot the Breeze (Detective Kate Rosetti Mystery #1) by Gina LaManna.
My Rating:
I’m truly surprised that I didn’t know about this series sooner! Bonus – they were on Kindle Unlimited and I had a free trail.
I grew up loving Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series, and this book gave me huge waves of nostalgia for those times. Being from the Twin Cities, it is so much fun to read a cozy mystery that takes place in my own backyard. These books are light(ish… the second book in the series got a little bit dark…) and really quick reads.
