The Prompt: Fierce Female Lead Coffee Date
The Definition: Who am I meeting for a latte? And what gossip are we spilling?
The Book:
The Queens of Crime by Marie Benedict
My Rating:
Benedict is so good at writing historical fiction!
She makes me want to sit down in a 1920’s room in London and sitting down with Agatha Christie and Dorothy L. Sayers. These women defined the mystery genre. They were working moms, wives, and professionals navigating a world that didn’t always take them seriously. It was empowering to read about women supporting women in such a competitive space.
