Closing Out August 2023

Family Time

My mom is in town and stayed with us for a while.  We all made the trek down to visit Tucker and Cassie.  It was HOT out.  I took pictures of them with Buddy while Joel took the kiddos to the park.  We went out for dinner and then drove back home. My mom stayed with Tucker and Cassie since I was heading out of town and she wanted to spend some time with them.

The kids loved seeing Tucker and Cassie – and especially seeing the dogs!

With my mom in town, me traveling, and just trying to get the kiddos out of the house, we have gone out to eat a bit. The kids have done surprisingly well going out too! (Especially if we give them our phones to watch something…)

I know I already posted this picture of my mom with the kiddos, but I loved it so much I’m posting it again.

More Family Time

We got to celebrate Sheri’s birthday this month.

I started the day going to an Orange Theory Fitness class and then heading home to an empty house.  Joel took the kids with his dad down to the fair in Owatonna.  The pictures we were getting of the kids down there were so adorable.  Hailey went on the ferris wheel with Joel and “was so brave”.  She got a little scared at the top when it stopped.  The kids went on a few other rides and loved seeing the animals.

While they were there, I met up with Sheri and Joel’s sisters to go out for sushi lunch.  After lunch, we went shopping (I got a couple new pairs of dress pants).  Then we stopped at Costco for some grocery shopping and I ordered cake for Hailey’s birthday.

Joel and Dan got stuck in traffic coming back due to a bad accident on the highway.  Joel stopped off at Cassie and Tucker’s with the kiddos to break up the drive since they had been in the car so long.

We all met up at Dan and Sheri’s for birthday dinner and celebration.  I took Miles home to get him to bed and start packing for my trip to Seattle the next day.  It was a wonderful day!

Kiddos | Summer Fun

We love our daycare.  Both kids have started to transition up to the next room at school.

There have been so many daycare activities –

  • outside time
  • bubble parties
  • guest bands for dance time
  • bouncy houses
  • gymnastics is back
  • face painting
  • raptor center visited

The kiddos love water day.  They have water day once a week at daycare.  We just wrapped up the last water day of the summer.

With Hailey’s birthday, she ended up with so many new toys! One of the big things was the giant lot of Paw Patrol toys from me and Joel and my mom and dad, but she also got some Mickey and Doc McStuffins toys from Toby’s family.

I also found some toys for her on the Buy Nothing Facebook page.

The kiddos are growing up so fast. Looking like grown ups when they wear their backpacks or a summer hat at Target.

We’ve been getting the kiddos out to the parks while the weather is still warm.  They had so much fun kicking a ball around!

Loving snuggles with the kiddos.  It’s so cute when they are willing to snuggle next to each other.

We went to a friend’s birthday party the day before Hailey’s party.  The weather was great! It was almost chilly.

It was a Spider Man themed party.  The kiddos loved the silly string spraying and also playing in the sand.

Other Updates

I updated my headshot for LinkedIn and also got a nice picture with Dakota while I was doing pictures for Tucker and Cassie.

I had fun crafting!  I got a button maker machine and made some magnets.  There were also some nice blanks to make magnet bottle openers.

While I was in Seattle, I had a weird episode of SVT.  It lasted for an hour and a half… I’m so used to seeing my heart rate super low, so to see it that high while I was just sitting was weird.  After some digging, it looks like one of the meds that I’m on is linked to raising resting heart rate – so I messaged with my doctor and decided to come off of it.

It’s back to school season, so seeing all sorts of First Day of School posts.  Here is a picture of Jackson from his first day – can’t believe he is already a Junior in high school
