Friday
Miles had to stay home on Friday due to pink eye. I was online a little bit for work, so it was a little bit of juggling. We got outside and ran with my friend for a VERY slow couple of miles. Miles played on the playground for a few minutes, but it was still covered in snow, so it wasn’t easy to do. During the run, he had me carry his bucket of animals again and hand them off to him throughout the run.
He did ‘quiet time’ that was anything but…. He does not nap at home anymore.. but he’s been pretty good at least staying in his room and playing by himself.
We picked Hailey up from daycare and headed to Target to pick up some groceries for homemade pizza. We made homemade pizza.. the kids enjoyed making it but didn’t eat it.. and had a ‘quiet’ night at home
Saturday
Joel went off to pickleball on Saturday and I took the kiddos to the gym. I just read and fixed my blog while there. It was nice to relax a little bit after having entertained Miles the whole previous day.
After the gym, we headed home for lunch and quiet time. I laid down for a little bit and Miles actually fell asleep for about a half hour! He woke up SUPER crabby. Joel’s parents were amazing and were going to have the kids over to dye eggs so Joel and I could do a date night.
Joel took the kids to his parents while I went and did a timed 5k around the neighborhood…. I ate too close to it and I pushed myself way too hard. It was probably the only time I can remember that I actually puked after running. Felt perfectly fine after I did, but oooft. My 5k time was pretty lame compared to my previous times pre-kids, but I am still super proud of myself for it.

Joel and I had an amazing date night. We went to French Meadow and had appetizers, drinks and dinner. It was so nice to just be able to talk to each other and not have to try to calm the kiddos down and keep them quiet. After dinner, we went to Cheesecake Factory to pick up cheesecake for dessert for after the kiddos went to bed.
Sunday
Sunday morning, I met a friend at 7 to do 7 miles in Bunker. It was such a nice run! So glad I did it in the morning because by the time the festivities were over… I was exhausted.
After running, Joel did a workout in the garage and we all got ready to head to his parent’s house for Easter. We got there and the kids found all of the eggs they dyed the night before that the Easter bunny hid. The Easter bunny also left baskets for the kiddos with candy and sticker coloring books. Hailey ate probably 10 pieces of chocolate for her meal….
My sister in law couldn’t make it due to a migraine, Katie’s fiancé couldn’t make it due to food poisoning, and Joel’s aunt wasn’t feeling well either… but everyone else was there. The food was amazing, quiche and eggs and the dessert spread! Yum.
The kids played downstairs with Joel’s cousin and uncle for probably an hour! They were playing hide and seek and just running around.

We headed home and did quiet time a little later than normal… which, again, was not quiet. I did lay down and close eye for a little bit but then we gave up on being quiet. Joel took Hailey for a walk around the neighborhood and to the park while I took Miles to Walmart (the only store open) to get groceries.

I made freezer meals for Joel for while I’m gone and did some meal prep for the week for me and him — my April goal is to not pay to eat out! I know that won’t happen during our trip to Florida, but if we can hold off the rest of the time, that would be great.
We got the kiddos to bed and watched Friends and then we went to bed early. Both kiddos got me up during the night… so I’m tired this morning, but thankful for a great weekend!
These are the meals I made, I’ll report back on if I should make them again:
- Freezer meals for while I’m gone
- Meals for the week
- https://www.spendwithpennies.com/the-best-chili-recipe/#wprm-recipe-container-145347 (I made it vegetarian so he can just add in the ground beef but I have some meals too)
- https://makeitdairyfree.com/anti-inflammatory-garlic-turmeric-rice/#recipe (I baked some tofu and made coconut milk with soy sauce and red curry paste for it to go along with the rice)
