I started ‘construction’ on the entry way this weekend. I am going to start with just the bench this weekend and build up from there.
I went to Menards and got some tools – I bought a 10 inch miter saw, a jigsaw, a work bench, 2 pieces of 4 feet by 8 feet by 1/2 inch plywood, and 2 pieces of 2x10x10 boards (for the bench).
I popped out the trim and cut that down into 20″ sections to go between the shelf parts.
I cut down the first piece of the plywood to 18″x20″ pieces…. and turns out the miter saw and jig saw that I was trying to make work are not the right tools… I am going to cut the other piece with a table saw at my friend’s house and try to fix the other ones I made. I also realize that 18″x18″ is a better size to go with.
Joel is super stoked that I took over the garage with my stuff… but he gets to park in my spot instead. As I look at this, I should probably move the stuff from behind the miter saw before I start using it again…
