It’s been a whirlwind of a month and I know I say this all the time – but gosh, time has flown! There’s only one more month of the year left!
With Thanksgiving in the rearview, I thought I would reflect on some of the things that I am very thankful for this year:
- Our health, we have had a bumpy road with health scares this year and I don’t want to ever take for granted our health. And although we paid lots for health care this year, I am thankful we have health insurance to help with some of the costs
- Our family, both mine and Joel’s. I am so thankful my family came to visit and that Tucker and Cassie life close. I am thankful that my parents fly up to stay with us and help out. I am thankful that Joel’s parents life so close that we can just pop over. I am thankful his grandma is moving up here next week so she will be closer. I am thankful Toby’s whole family was able to come up so the cousins could all play
- My job. My coworkers and boss are the best. I enjoy the work I am doing (most days) and thankful I’m in a field that improves people’s health
- Joel. I am so thankful to have a husband who is funny and caring and so encouraging of all of my goals, even when I talk myself out of some of them. Raising children is hard. I would not want to do it with anyone else
- The kiddos, I never knew how much I would love being a mom. While it is so, so challenging and sleep deprivation is so tough, watching them learn and grow is the most rewarding thing
Life
Hailey
Hailey took her first pony ride this month! Sheri found the stable near our house that had pony rides. She got to ride Wilbur – she had so much fun and was definitely fascinated with the horsey poop.
Her vocabulary is exploding and her ability to copy anything that someone says is so fun to see. She is starting to have thoughts and sentences – today she colored all over her JJ doll’s head and told Joel “Hailey clean it” when Joel saw it.
She has moved up to the Toddler 2 room at daycare so I’m sure she will learn even more. The older toddler room is a little more structured and independent. She has gone potty in the potty multiple times since moving into there! She continues to nap pretty well at daycare. She generally does not nap
She loves to go to Grandma and Grandpa Cassens’ house. When we turn onto their street she yells “appa appa house!”
She has finished gymnastics at Perpetual Motion but is now doing it at daycare during the day. She does it with the preschoolers because she is more advanced… which made me laugh.
Some of the fun things I love to hear her say:
- Water = “la-low”, except she is now starting to say “la-ler”
- “know my know my… ” singing now I know my ABCs
- She is starting to sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, but all the words are messed up so it’s super cute
- Elephant = “op-ah-lint”
- Miles = “My-none”
- Before bed, she runs back from the hallway and yells “hug!” and gives me a hug
- She has started to say “sorry”, she hit Miles in the face the other day on accident and says “sorry, my-none”
- She has started to say thank you and excuse me (“scu me”)
- Love you = “lub-ub”
- Gymnastics = “josie nacicks”
- “Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeese” – when she poses for pictures. She likes to line up her dolls or stuffed toys and take our phones and hold it up to pretend she is taking pictures of them
Miles
I feel like I just repeat what I put in his monthly post, so I will just reference that 🙂 It’s so true how they say the second one sort of raises themselves. Hailey requires lots of attention and Miles just goes with the flow.
Miles ended up with a nasty cold the last week of the month so ended up sleeping horribly
