January 4, 2024Here is the link to my 23 Goals in 2023.
When goal setting, it’s usually good to be specific… this year, I am going to purposely be less specific. Things change throughout the year and I don’t want to feel like a failure for not hitting my goals. Similar to when we are planning out some of our objectives for the year at work – things change, we learn new things, and having an objective/goal just to have one doesn’t make sense. My main goal for 2024 is to feel better on the inside so I can be ‘better’ on the outside – whatever that means.
Workouts/Fitness
With the injuries and pain I’ve felt in 2023, I am not setting any specific number goals for workouts.
- I would like to be more intentional with my workouts. Whether it’s getting to the gym a certain amount during the week to ensure movement, taking rest days to make sure I don’t hurt myself, or just doing intentional movement a little day for my mental health — those all are wins. I would love to run more than this year and I would love to make it to the start line of Grandma’s Marathon.
- Feel better in my body. While this probably means some weight loss, it may also mean being able to lift heavier or run more miles, improve mobility, or just not hurt all the time… whatever it takes to start feeling better, I would like to do that!
Me Time
- Make time to enjoy hobbies. Photography, blogging, crafting. I love it all. I want to continue to make time to do these things.
- Make time to enjoy friends. Happy hours, coffee dates, running dates.
Family/Home
- Intentional Date Nights/Days. I love the the goal of kid free nights for 2023 to be able to spend time with Joel. I also love being able to just sneak out for lunch on a Friday.. so not necessarily intentional.
- Visit/spend time with family. I would love to get to Florida to visit my parents as well as Sioux Falls to spend time with family.
- Finish house projects. This was the year of starting projects… the deck, the patio underneath, some built in. I would like to finish those off and if there is anything else I do decide to tackle, make sure I finish it.
- Eat at home more. I can control what I’m eating and it’s generally more affordable to eat out of the home.
