I have been healing the hip as much as possible with cortisone injections and PT and rest. It’s feeling pretty good for running! As long as I don’t do anything that uses my full hip range of motion (like rowing) or puts it at an angle (sumo squats), it’s feeling pretty good!
I signed up for the Get in Gear Half in April and am signed up for Grandma’s Full in June (… can’t find housing for the night, so might be sleeping in my car!). I have been getting some mileage in, but need to put together a better plan for making sure I can get the mileage in without making my hips too mad. A lot of this has meant slowing WAY down. It was humbling today on my run that an 11 minute mile with walking breaks was not easy. It’s so easy to compare back to “before”.
