My backyard! |
I have no lived in MY house for a week. My house.. let that sink in. I now understand that they say it takes a lot of work to own a home. I have already painted to rooms, changed the locks, installed a keypad for my garage door, and picked up 3 garbage bags full of the previous owner’s dog droppings (they had a rottweiler and I doubt they picked up anything all winter). In addition to the work, the amount of money I want to spend on decorating and filling the empty spaces is ridiculous. I also found a nice puncture hole through the floor that the previous owners left for me hidden under a mat in the entry way.. Tomorrow they are installing a fence so I can let the dogs run around, that’s been a huge ordeal – basically they took the money but didn’t do the work, left the materials in the front yard, they promised it will be done tomorrow by noon.
The dogs are starting to get used to it. The cat was a little bit freaked at first. She left me a present in the sink because she refused to go downstairs to use the litter box.
Moving was exciting. I closed Friday the 29th; my mom came to closing with me. We filled up MJ’s Astrovan and my car with stuff and got that brought over for our first load. Coach Bross (did I mention I’m volunteering as a softball coach at Blaine High School?) and his daughter helped get that unloaded. We then went and filled that up again along with MJ’s mini fan, Kris’ mini van and my car. All we had left was the big furniture for the next day in the UHaul. Tucker and I slept on the mattresses on the floor at the new house. Saturday, my running crew and a few friends came over and got the big things moved into my house. Now I’m busy unpacking so that it looks decent for my homewarming/birthday party in 2 weeks.
