April 3, 2024My week of running turned out well after a slow start. It was pretty darn snowy the first couple of days so I didn’t do much.. but then had some good workouts towards the end.
Thursday, I met with friends after work to run. Miles got sent home from daycare with pink eye, so he rode in the stroller while we stayed around my neighborhood. Thankfully, the snow melted and most of the sidewalks were clear as well. Miles made me take his whole bucket of animals on the run. He would ask me for a different animal and I would have to hand it to him. It was a fun game for him… but tough for mommy.
Friday, I had to stay home with Miles because of his pink eye. We met with my friend to run around the Lakes. I had the stroller with Miles and it was a little tougher with little bumps of bigger ice and snow. We went pretty darn slow with him. He made me push his animals again and hand them off to him.
Saturday, I had a timed 5k on my schedule. I headed out after lunch and quiet time. I am proud of myself for those paces even though they are slower than my easy long run paces from pre baby times… I pushed it hard enough that I actually puked a bit after I finished. I’ve never done that before! I felt good after my tummy was empty, though.
Sunday, I met a friend early to get my long run in for the week before the Easter festivities began. It was just one of those great runs
March, overall, was a decent running month for me. With the sickness and the snow, I still got in miles. I’m glad I’m following the plan that I am. So far, it’s easing me into runs and isn’t super daunting.
