Weekly Workouts (v.12)
October 4, 2021Weekly Workouts (v.13)
October 10, 2021Spending
Home (20.6%) – Home was slightly up due to replacing the sink faucet, but other than that it was relatively the same costs around the house. Mortgage still is a big chunk of our spend.
Medical (13.3%) – Ooft, this one was a big hit this quarter paying off all the hospital bills from labor and delivery, my hospital stay, Miles hospital visits… this will continue to be spend as bills keep rolling in
Long Term Savings (12.5%) – We bumped up our contribution to the brokerage count, but will be reducing it again starting Q4 to account for the crazy amount we will be spending in daycare costs
Daycare (12.1%) – This will be the last quarter of just one daycare for a very long time 🙁 This will end up being almost twice our mortgage starting in October
Food (11.2%) – We reduced our food bill!!! I know we can do even better with this with more meal planning, it’s gotta come down because it has been very high.
Shopping (8.3%) – Shopping was way up from last quarter due to some big purchases. I ended up getting an iPad instead of a the Peloton treadmill, we bought lots of clothes at the CrossFit games, I bought some clothes for myself that fit postpartum. I got a new camera (but sold my old one with lens, so I counted that towards the cost of the new camera). I got a new lens and we got a new router (which was a great investment!!)
Travel (4.4%) – Travel was up from last quarter since we went to Rockford and the Crossfit Games
Monthly Bills (3.6%) – We spent a little more on bills due to our electric being pretty high due to the the extreme heat
Health, Wellness & Fitness (2.9%) – I got my hair cut and colored, I signed up for Mom’s on the Run Fall and Summer sessions, and Joel bought a program for working out. We also had the cost of the 10 mile and some pickeball tournaments
Entertainment (2.7%) – Entertainment was pretty stable, although we had a couple expenses with Joel’s Top Golf adventure and paying for my Mama retreat conference
Hailey Joy (2.6%) – Hailey ended up having one of the biggest jumps in spending this quarter due to her swimming lessons and her gymnastics classes
Vehicle (2.2%) – Our gas costs are slowly creeping up….
Miles Wayne (1.9%) – Formula has been a big cost as well as the Nanit subscription
Yearly/Semi Yearly Bills/Subscriptions (1%)
Pets (0.8%)
**Note: this is solely based on spending – so money coming out of our accounts and not going in. This also doesn’t include money that has come out of our paychecks prior to our account – 401k, ESPP, insurance premiums. For medical expenses, we use Joel’s HSA (until it’s gone). I don’t track the money going to it, but I have been tracking when I use it, so all of those expenses are accounted for.
