It was a great week and weekend. It got COLD! I know I will be complaining soon, but I do enjoy the weather where I can bundle up in a sweatshirt and not immediately start sweating.
Nothing too exciting happened this week. I met a new coworker for a drink on Tuesday after work. The kids joined for the last little bit so that Joel could go play Pickleball. The kids did great!
I went to dinner and a Christmas shop on Wednesday with a friend. We went to a little diner in the middle of nowhere that reminded me of a cozy romcom book. The shop was really cool, it was in a farm house thing and was FULL of Christmas decorations. It was really crowded, but really cute. Joel took the kids to his parents for dinner Wednesday night while I was there. We had dinner at Joel’s parents house with his aunt on Thursday, the kids are a little chaotic but it was so lovely.
I grabbed lunch with a friend Friday before working from home the rest of the afternoon. We went to this amazing Pho restaurant not too far from my house. Joel played Pickleball on Friday so I took the kids to Target and then to dinner at Taco Johns. They basically only at the potato oles.

Saturday morning was great – I ran to my Moms on the Run running group and then ran a bit with them to get a long run in. After running, we went to Caribou. Joel took the kids to swimming lessons with the help of his mom and then went out to breakfast with them, so I got to have a little bit of alone time. The kiddos got down for nap/quiet time (Hailey did not nap..) and Joel headed to hang out with a friend. When the kiddos got up, I took them to the mall. We stopped at Apple so I could pick up the new Apple Watch Ultra. I am trading in my old Apple Watch and going to give this new one a shot. I LOVE my Garmin but it’s not great as a smart watch. I do miss the notifications and sleekness of the Apple Watch, so I’m really excited to give it a try. After the Apple store, I took the kiddos to the indoor play area in the mall. It has a whole bunch of miniature areas for the kids to play in. Miles LOVED the little house section. It was a challenge because they want us to stay as a family the whole time and only one family in each room at a time – plus, no toys from one area could go to any other area. So it got a little stressful trying to keep the kiddos in line. We met up with Joel for dinner at a Mexican restaurant. The kids were challenging, but for being little kids, they did alright. I took them out so Joel could finish dinner and went to the grocery store with them to pick up some ice cream for dessert. They had so much fun opening and closing the freezer doors.

Sunday morning, Joel went to Pickleball. I plopped the kiddos in a stroller and then walked to the park. We then walked over to Aldi to get groceries. I got a little too much, so had to make Hailey walk home so that the groceries could have her spot. She did great though!! She walked the whole way and didn’t complain – it was almost a half mile! Miles ate an entire container of raspberries on the walk home also. Joel took the kids to his parents house after nap time so I could meal prep. I made a tofu veggie stir fry for myself, pot roast for Joel, and a cashew butter chicken for Joel with some homemade naan. I’ll admit, it was a challenging night with the kids for me. With the colder weather and having to be inside and no plans for the weekend afternoon – it just got a little overwhelming. I headed to bed super early, that seemed to do the trick.

A new Weight Watchers program starts today – I’m excited to give it a shot. It sounds like it will be the same-ish as the old Freestyle plan, which I didn’t particularly love… but I need to do something…
