February 10, 2024Book Review with Spoilers | ARC Review | Deadly to the Core by Joyce Tremel
February 13, 2024This. As my husband said, “That is the laziest thing ever”…. I know. But hear me out. Snuggled into a blankie in this cold Minnesota weather, soooo comfy, with my book propped up so all of my limbs are warm. I need to turn the page of my book – my arm needs to come out of the covers to a less comfortable position and temperature to swipe. Enter this gadget this is completely unnecessary but seriously – I’m loving it 🙂
We got back from a 6 day road trip mid last week so everything out of sort. I didn’t do any planning in my digital planner but bought myself a bullet journal for personal stuff. I have been using one for work with personal stuff sprinkled in and have enjoyed the feel of writing with a pen. So decided to get one for home stuff too. It’s nice to be less structured with stuff.
You might be able to tell from the writings (with my new favorite pen! A Uni Jetstream 0.5mm) that we hosted a Super Bowl party at our house yesterday. Loved having people over!! I got most of our groceries at Aldi and didn’t feel bad about buying the generic brands this year.
The hubby picked up the house while I took the kiddos to Sky Zone to burn off some energy. The membership is a great deal for us since we’re actually using it right now!
I ran 10 miles yesterday. It was 30ish degrees out. Amazing for this time of year in Minnesota. I thought it was a good idea to wear shorts… which was okay, except the wind was cold and my legs were very cold by the end of the run. I walked into the door frame as I was coming inside because my legs were basically numb when I finished — the owie I got from that hurts worse than my body after jumping into a double digit long run after taking so much time off.
I still haven’t written my January recap for all the things. I have it drafted out for the most part… yet it sits. A couple of random highlights though:
- We did so good at not eating out very much AND I didn’t drink at the house, only at happy hours; our budget liked this a lot…. now that we’re back in town, I need to plan things out better so we can be successful at this.
- I survived the hubby’s work trip to Malaysia and to Chicago – juggling the kiddos with work and everything else I want to do is HARD. I’m thankful for the Lifetime membership and being able to drop the kiddos off at a place they love to play at for a couple of hours while I can get a workout in.
- Our group got reorganized and I got a new manager
